Eating These 8 Fattening Foods Are Actually Good For Your Health

In This Article:

You read that title right. There's good fats and bad fats, just like good bacteria and bad bacteria. When people hear "fat," they instantly blacklist it and strive to eat nothing but salads and diet food. However, not all fats are bad and some of them are necessary to function. Why do you think a lot of people try doing the keto diet? Well, that was a little bit too general but you know where I am trying to go. Here are some of the healthy fats you can try adding to your grocery list:

1. Avocados

Avocados are loaded with about 77% of fat. These fats are more prevalent than any other food. They also contain roughly 40% of potassium, which is a lot more than the average banana. It also contains a lot of healthy oils. Now you see why people put this in their hair and eat, sleep, and breathe avocado. They are also pretty beneficial in cardiovascular health. The next time you're at Chipotle, ask for extra guacamole.

2. All Nuts

Nuts are full of fiber, protein, magnesium and are overall good for your heart. Try to stay away from overly-salted nuts and go for plain ones.

3. Dark Chocolate

As bitter as it sounds, dark chocolate has roughly 65% of fat. It also contains fiber and antioxidants, even more prevalent than blueberries. For those who didn't know, dark chocolate is healthier than milk chocolate.

4. Whole Eggs

Despite the amount of cholesterol in 1 egg, whole eggs are loaded with vitamins and minerals necessary for health. Also, I heard that a good amount of cholesterol is needed for health. Just don't overdo it.

5. Cheese

Cheese has a good amount of vitamins and protein as well as calcium, which is the same amount in milk. Cheese also helps with type 2 diabetes. If you're lactose intolerant, I'd skip this one out.

6. Fatty Fish

Fish such as salmon contains Omega-3 fatty acids. People who eat fish tend to be much healthier, with a lower risk of heart disease, depression, dementia and all sorts of common diseases

7. Coconut Oil (or just a Coconut)

Coconuts can reduce appetite, increase fat burning, get rid of headaches, and overall provide many health benefits.

8. Yogurt

Yogurt consists of healthy, probiotic bacteria, that can have powerful effects on your health. Studies also show that yogurt can lead to major improvements in digestive health, and may even help fight heart disease and obesity.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
