American Horror Story: Classic Horror ?

American Horror Story Season 6

"American Horror Story" has taken everyone on a wild ride these past few seasons. From 'Murder House' to 'Hotel', October has always been a highly anticipated month in regards to one of the most talked about shows. With just over a month left until the premiere on September 14th, "AHS" has still yet to release a theme about what this season will be about. With cryptic clues continuously being released, you would think that a theme would somehow be able to be pieced together by this point, but you would in fact be wrong. This upcoming season of "AHS" has been kept completely under wraps and there doesn't seem to be any budging on what the theme will be quite yet, but I do have some theories.

With the release of the most recent trailer for "AHS", it appears that a girl is being pulled down into a lake and struggling to fight off a creature. Sounds quite familiar, doesn't it? Of course! The clip looks vaguely reminiscent of the 1954 classic film "Creature from the Black Lagoon", which leads me to wonder...If this clip looks oddly similar to an old horror film, will the other teaser trailers be as well? The answer: yes!

Going back and looking at some of the older teaser trailers, I realized that there are some very obvious similarities and even conclusions that can be drawn about the clips in regards to what films they could be representing. From a centipede crawling down a woman's face--"The Human Centipede"--to the sound of chainsaws near an abandoned farm house--"Texas Chainsaw Massacre"--there is no doubt that all of the clips look eerily akin to very popular cult classics, thus making me wonder if the theme for season 6 of "American Horror Story" is in fact, classic horror.

Now, while this may seem like a far-fetched idea, you have you to admit that it's pretty ingenious. From every trailer that has been released, we see infamous scenes from old horror films in which the suspense was extreme and you were completely terrified to sleep after you finished watching the film! So why not base the whole season of a remarkably terrifying show off of the same things? To me, this seems like a brilliant marketing strategy as the classic horror genre is still quite popular today and would make for an interesting season of "AHS". They could cover all kinds of equally horrifying subjects with increasing amounts of gore and fright to satisfy all viewers as Halloween draws near. I mean, who doesn't love a good scare from time to time, especially one of classical origin.

Now, although this idea seems the most plausible given the evidence, there is also the rumor that only one trailer is real and the others are just here to misdirect the viewers. Whether this is true or not, the expectation that this season will mostly originate from the classic horror genre is still pretty high, as all of the teasers appear to be modernized versions of older films. Not only are glimpses of "The Human Centipede", "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", and "Creature from the Black Lagoon" are shown, but also what could possibly be "Children of the Corn" and even "Rosemary's Baby" as depicted by the figures approaching ominously out of the cornfield a demon baby reaching for a knife.

As evidence of the classic horror theme grows, new information keeps being acquired through various online sources. The most recent, a series of pictures posted by TMZ, sparks the possible idea that this season could be based around the Lost Colony, for the words 'Croatoan' are etched into a tree and the setting looks indicative of older times.

So what exactly is the theme of this season's "American Horror Story"? As far as all sources go, no one really knows. Will the theme be a mix of classical horror pieces or will it be about the Lost Colony? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
