I was scrolling through Twitter recently when I saw someone had tweeted, "unpopular opinion: chipotle is not good." You see, it's become somewhat of a trend for people to share their unpopular opinions online to see who agrees or disagrees with them. This has me thinking about two things: When did it become popular to have unpopular opinions? And boy, I bet I have a ton of unpopular food opinions.
I was an extraordinarily picky eater growing up. Most of my meals consisted of McDonald's chicken nuggets and cheese pizza with the cheese scraped off (weird, I know) because that's all my parents could get me to eat. As I've grown up, I've branched out and started eating waaaay more foods which has led me to have these (possibly) unpopular food opinions.
1. Ranch > Ketchup

It's not only that ranch is better than ketchup; ketchup just isn't good at all. Me not liking ketchup probably stems from the fact I don't like tomatoes period. Not to mention, ranch is simply better than any other sauce in general.
2. Hamburgers & hot dogs should NOT be on the grill at your next cookout.

I know what you're thinking: "Are you even American??" Yes, I'm American even though I don't like hamburgers or hot dogs. If you invite me to your cookout, make sure to have chicken on the grill please!
3. I would rather drink dirty water than sweet tea.
Not only does sweet tea taste bad, it smells bad too. And yes, I'm from the South.
4. Moe's is better than Chipotle.

5. Cracker Barrel breakfast shouldn't be served all day.
Cracker Barrel breakfast shouldn't be served all day because it's just not that good. Don't get me wrong, I love Cracker Barrel. My family and I go every Sunday after church, but I will wait until 11:00 AM to order so that I can get lunch.
6. Green beans are my favorite food.

Unexpected, I know. My grandma made me the BEST green beans growing up and I still haven't gotten tired of them.
7. You can find me in the Dunkin' Donuts drive-thru 9 times out of 10.
If I'm going to get coffee somewhere, you can find me at Dunkin' Donuts instead of Starbucks. Now, if I'm going to get actual donuts, that's a whole different story (you can find me where the hot sign's at).
8. Seafood is the best food.
Since I said I was a semi-picky eater, you may be surprised to hear me say seafood is the best. Shrimp, scallops, crab, etc. are all at the top of my list.
9. I would not eat watermelon on the hottest day of the summer.

I know the thought of eating watermelon on a hot, summer day appeals to most people but not me. Watermelon, and any melon really, just don't taste good to me.
10. There's only one fish in the sea for me.
Perhaps my most odd food opinion so far is that I don't like eating more than one Goldfish at a time. Or more than one Skittle. Or more than one chip. Really I don't like eating more than one of anything at a time. One at a time is fine with me.
11. Orange Starbursts are the best.

I have NEVER had anyone agree with me on this one. Apparently pink Starbursts are all the rage.
12. You'll never see me buying a bag of potato chips.

While I do indulge in a bunch of unhealthy foods, you won't catch me laying on the couch eating potato chips. I don't eat chips unless I'm at a Mexican restaurant eating tortilla chips and salsa. You're much more likely to find me on the couch eating a pint of Ben & Jerry's ice cream.
I'm sure y'all have plenty of your own unpopular food opinions and maybe you even agree with some of mine. Thankfully, my diet consists of more than just chicken nuggets and cheese pizza now. My food preferences have definitely changed over the years, but you still won't catch me eating hamburgers or hot dogs at your next backyard barbecue.
And I mean, seriously, orange Starbursts are the best.
