Sorority recruitment is a special time in a woman's life when she decides to join a sorority. It's exciting for women on both sides of the playing field. The women in the sororities get to have new members to cherish and carry out the legacy of the sisterhood, and the new members have a new place to call home. It all looks perfect and flawless from the outside, but on the inside, we are dying by the end of the week.

Recruitment week is the most stressful week of any Greek woman all year. There are so many rules you can't remember them all. You focus on sisterhood all week, therefore; no bars, booze, or boys for the week.

Every day is stressful; wake-up, class, lunch, class, dinner, recruitment, homework, sleep (not really), then repeat! For every event, you have to look your best, so curl your hair and throw on some winged eye liner and hope that those two-day old dark circles aren't noticeable.

Every day is a mystery because something could go wrong at any moment, a member could get sick, someone's car broke down on the way to campus, but all the stress is gone by the end of bid day. The world gets lifted off your shoulders once bid day comes around.

During recruitment week, nerves are on edge. Everyone is excited, nervous, and scared. People have shorter tempers and many women lose it and have one to six mental breakdowns throughout the week. Let's be honest, it can be a shit show.

Sororities have been planning fall recruitment since the spring semester before. We plan it during the summer and put hours of time and effort into making it the most amazing week for our potential new members. We hold recruitment practices day in and day out to make sure our women are trained in what to do and what to ask.

We rehearse our songs, ritual events, and chants for that one week of craziness. We feel like dying by the end of the week, but on Bid day, our adrenaline kicks in and we are the happiest we have been all week. Mostly because the crazy hectic week is finally over, but also because we get to welcome home all of our beautiful new members!

Our members are our legacy and it's so important that we have ones who are dedicated to making their sorority apart of their daily life. We want women who will cherish our values and hold onto the bond of sisterhood, whether they are in college or when they are out of college.

Thank you to all the amazing women who went through sorority recruitment this year, you are the reason why we are still here today! May your time with your sorority be the happiest time in your college career!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
