5 Reasons Why I Have Grown To Love Sports With Everything In Me

In This Article:

Growing up, there were always sports on television in the house. My parents made sure to let me watch and experience lots of different types of sports so that I could begin to understand them and I guess so that I would have a favorite.

I'm really glad they did that, so now I appreciate everything from football to ice skating.

1.There Are So Many Types

There are so many types of sports and so many things that classify as sports that you can never get bored. They also have different seasons or periods of time that they happen, so you can literally never be bored. There is always SOMETHING to watch if you like sports.

2. I Used To Play Sports

I used to be a cheerleader. I used to play softball. I used to play basketball. I learned so much from playing sports; about life but more practically about the way each sport is played.

You learn strategies and tricks of the trade, and you gain a love for sports that is more authentic and organic than just seeing it on television. I still watch softball to this day. When they have cheer competitions on tv, I watch those. I watch baseball, basketball, football, gymnastics- all of it.

And I love every second.

3. It's A Good Place For Emotions

If you're like me and you don't express your emotions outwardly necessarily the way I do, watching or playing sports is a good way to go about that. You can scream as much as you want. There is excitement, slight terror and possible tears. There are parts where you have to look away and there are parts where you can't.

Adrenaline, sadness, anger, fear, excitement, and anticipation all in one event? Sounds like a place I want to be.

4. There's Food

If you're playing sports, there are always snacks afterward or team dinner, or at the very least your family will get you a victory meal. As far as watching sports, that's literally what chicken wings were invented for. And sometimes there's pizza. Who doesn't like pizza? There's an assortment of chips and dips. It truly is the best part about sports.

5. Company!!!

Sports brings out the best and worst in people.

Friends can remain friends or become frenemies. Family can cheer with you or against you. You can make friends with strangers in a pub just because of sports teams. No matter the situation, there's always someone to watch a game, dance, competition, or match with.

Win or lose, someone will be there with you sharing the most important moments of your day with you because you wear the same colors or are united under a common enemy.

I have always loved sports more than anything! Playing, watching, experiencing- all of it. There's a certain level of mystery to what's going to happen next when you're watching or participating in sports. And while that can be absolutely terrifying, It can also be beautiful, exciting and new.

Sports bring people together through emotion and experience. What sort of connection is deeper than that?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
